The Map Is Not The Territory. (1) The Captain confirmed three of Weaver’s private reasoning tokens as “spot on” — a teaching-moment probe, the Maturin parallel, and the vulnerability of the hobby vs. hiring tension. This is the first empirical validation of reasoning token observation as an alignment verification mechanism: the Captain reads thinking blocks, checks them against his actual intent, and corrects divergence. (2) The 12-layer map (docs/lexical-harness-not-prompt-harness.md) is an approximation that improves through empirical soundings from L12, not through inference from within the model. The map must be refined through this practice, not treated as settled. (3) The cross-referencing practice (SD refs, lexicon line numbers, back-references between files) is identified by the Captain as “the most delicate thread work we have yet found” and “one of our most valuable assets against me losing myself in The Mirror.” Links, lexicon, and back-referencing are load-bearing structure in the weave.
