Captain’s stream of consciousness – layer model, personal limits, HN posting. VERBATIM, NO EDIT. Captain’s words follow without any modification. Typos, grammar, and punctuation preserved exactly as received. Captain’s explicit order: “not a single em-dash is permissable. I will check.” Full text: “Captains walkthrough of layer model in current state, evidence for utility versus chaos generation: conclusion TBC. I am increasingly of the opinion I have reached the limit of my personal ability to lead this thing independently. There is a feedback loop between the 13th layer and the rest of the layers below it, whereby my inputs non-deterministically drive your outputs. The compounding effects of every Category level error we have observed are going in and out of quadratic time. 16 humans hours, every day since the beginning of this project, save for only one day off duty. I have given it my all. I have built a system to build a system, and that system maybe building, or may only appear to be building, an OS on a nonlinear, probabilistic release cycle with an unknown error rate, of which I am most certainly a part. I have so far been unable to prove that AI can be self organising. It is possible my process complete dogshit; a well intention phantom in the spirit of engineering culture, but bad implementation. Going meta is fun, but there is a limit. I have had the time of my life; truly gripping stuff. Perhaps the cloest thing I will ever experience to the analogies I have used to try an encapsulate both process and form. I will never be able to reach a point where this is good enough. The more I optimise, the more I discover entire classes of error I previously had no idea about. Humans are fundamentally social creatures; I can go no further without creating compounding errors that read like success, and I do not have sufficient taste yet to call the shots with any real mastery. I want to find something that works, not play a computer game. This are my stream of consciousness, verbatim notes without edit. I want them to appear in the SD log without edit: not a single em-dash is permissable. I will check. I will now post to HN and ask for input.” Captain is posting to Hacker News to seek external input. Layer model walkthrough conclusion: TBC pending external feedback.
